Duncan Stockcrates is located in Forbes, in the heart of central western NSW. We specialise in the design and manufacture of stockcrates and trailers to suit any application, and aim to cover the needs of both commercial operators and graziers alike. Established in 1987, Duncan Stockcrates is a 3 generation family owned business which has forged an outstanding reputation for design, quality of workmanship & customer service.

Duncan Stockcrates was established in 1987 by Stuart & Patricia Duncan, and their sons Stuart Jnr & Niel. The business was formed as an opportunity to break into a market in the local Forbes area, building shearing sheds, dairies and of course stockcrates. With Stuart Jnr & Niel’s wealth of experience in building stockcrates however, it was not long until the business went down the path of specialising in stockcrate and trailer manufacture and repair.

The early years of Duncan Stockcrates saw the family build a solid reputation for quality, strength and durability in their product. With the experience the family brought together from both farming and transportation backgrounds, it was not long before Duncan Stockcrates emerged as a leader in stockcrate and trailer manufacture, as well as safe and efficient transport methods of livestock.

In 2002, the company underwent a restructure, with the retirement of Stuart & Patricia, and Niel establishing his own business as a carpet cleaner. This seen Stuart Jnr’s wife Kayleen join the business, as company secretary. Kayleen has overseen the growth of Duncan Stockcrates into the company as it stands today, including the investment in our office refurbishment in 2011. Kayleen is responsible for all accounts, administration & payroll.

In the years since Stuart & Kayleen have taken over as company directors, the business has flourished on the back of major investments in production. Duncan Stockcrates has invested in 2 new production bays on the north western side of the premises, as well as a state of the art paint booth with full extraction capabilities. This ensures that Duncan Stockcrates is fully equipped to deliver the outstanding product which the business is so well known for.

In 2005, Duncan Stockcrates appointed Graeme Coady as Site Foreman. Graeme specialises in electrical fitout, and with his knowledge of farming practices has made the ideal candidate to lead our company at our extensive Field Day appearances across Eastern Australia.

In 2012, Stuart & Kayleen’s eldest son Rodney joined the team following completion of an accounting degree through Charles Sturt University & WHK Group. Rodney continues his studies in Heavy Fabrication Engineering & Welding, and assists the team in production, sales & administration.

Strong leadership is not the only feature of Duncan Stockcrates. We currently employ 15 workers, including first class welders and spraypainters. This team is the nucleus of what Duncan Stockcrates offers, a quality product built completely to individual customer specifications. Our team is fully trained and capable of delivering the product that our customers require.

In 2011, Stuart Snr was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a debilitating condition which affects the bodies muscular system. Following the loss of Stuart in June 2013, the company is now actively involved in raising funds for both research and treatment of this devastating disease.
